Come to Korea with me -1

The 11 hour flight to Korea was dreadful, I even thought to myself that I will never come back.  Holy moly, I don't know how people do it because I was just dying inside in my tiny chair for 11 hours, unable to sleep.  So when I arrived at 8pm I was exhausted and wanted to just sleep right away without unpacking but I needed to unpack in order to get my things out of the suitcase and afterwards I couldn't fall asleep because it was morning in Vancouver.  Aiyahyah....I've been in Korea for 3 days and I've finally overcame my jet lag. 

I haven't been to Korea for 4 years and a lot has changed since then for example  I was suppose to meet my friends at Shinsa station on the 2nd day of my stay but I had no clue where that was... I had to look at the subway map and managed to embarrassed my friends slightly by acting like a tourist (they usually look it up on their phones).  I don't think I am 'acting' like one.. I am one..   Everything in Korea feels new and slightly awkward to me because I've lived in Canada for a long time.

Mmmm Brunch

I went for brunch at Hub Restaurant and Lounge(right beside Yaletown Roundhouse station) on Sunday morning with a friend.  Brunch is only served on weekends and holidays until 2pm. I personally love brunch but it's SO hard to motivate myself to wake up early on weekends.. but I made it!!

The weather was nice so we sat out on the patio. 

I ordered

shrimp and crab benny - poached eggs, toasted crumpet, hollandaise, roasted potatoes  $13

I loved the tiny glass of orange juice. I wish I could get this kind of meal delivered to my bed every morning...XD

A couple of things that could've been better were the overly soggy crumpet and the slightly overcooked egg.

Trattoria Italian Kitchen

My friend decided to have her 21st birthday party at Trattoria Italian Kitchen on 4th and Burrard. Trattoria is part of The Global Collection Group and there are 2 locations in Vancouver.  Check out their website for more information.

the menu had a variety of choices(pasta, pizza, salumi, insalata, meat and seafood) and also platters for minimum 2 people in case you want to try different kinds of pasta.

Gnocchi Aglio e Olio garlic, peperoncino, olive oil   $13.95

Overall, good.  But it was less fluffy compared to the one I had in Chambar and the garlic flavour was stronger than what I prefer.

Fruit Tart

Chocolate brushed pastry, filled with chocolate mousse, custard cream and topped with fresh fruits.

 

the tart looks amazing but it's not as good as it looks from what I remember
